Acimex supplied a new generation storage clamp to the building site of Emisor Oriente in Mexico. This mechanical grip with an automatic latch lock for opening and closing works totally independent of energy resources. The clamp was especially designed for Carso Infrastructuraes and is perfectly integrated into the precasting carousel system. Our engineers significantly increased the load capacity of the grip up to 40 tons. It can thus handle, easily and without contribution of energy, raise, move and deposit eight segments, so one complete concrete ring at once. Besides, the clamp enables to let down the segments into the 125 meters deep access shaft of the tunnel under construction.
