In the beginning of its activity, Acimex’s main competences served the iron and steel industry. The company is thus a pioneer in offering to handle metal sheets up to 30 tons by vacuum mechanism with suction pads. Until today, more than 3000 vacuum cross bars have been realized by Acimex for steel sheet handling.

We have the necessary capacities to provide you with equipment conceived to handle very diverse sheets:

According to their weight

• From the lightest – a leaf of gold of 3000 mm length, 100 mm width, weighing 21 grams and a thickness of 12 microns.
• Up to the heaviest – ship building pieces of 10 m² and a weight of 130 tons.

According to the sheet materia

• Steel, aluminum, copper, bronze, stainless steel, lead or brass.
• For non-magnetic metals such as stainless steel, copper, brass, bronze or lead the only alternative for handling, except for slinging, is the use of vacuum by suction pad.

For aluminum, the vacuum device has even replaced any other gripping means and numerous large companies have more than 35 vacuum cross bars on their factory and construction sites.
